Every month the All Win Network provides several themes for reflection. These are valuable resources to deepen our insight every day into the themes that are of importance in our personal development and as a part of a global network dedicated to the evolution of a global communitty that works well for all. Here are the themes for October:

1. be clear how you are creating a new phase in your life to avoid entanglements
2. First enter the Void where all answers lie to find the light

  • share your illumination with others
  • balance work with play
  • compassion, caring, teaching and sharing gifts are pathways to your personal power.

THE WORLD IS BECOMING A HAPPIER PLACE

Professor Ruut Veenhoven, researcher on happiness, from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands mentioned research findings from studies done over 10-40 years. These include:
1. The world is becoming a happier place (despite the prevailing rather pessimistic  view on happiness). This is due to the shrinking gap between those who are happy and those are unhappy and the decrease in the number of people who are least happy. Availability of psychotherapy and pharmaceuticals does play a positive role in this process. Although the Netherlands used to be seen as the happiest country, now the Danes head the list. This is mainly due to better data availability.
2. Happiness protects life. Happiness leads to better health (and vice versa). Not so much to better healing (as seen from the perspectives of the studies they are doing) but people who are happy tend to live as much as 1-2 years longer than those who are not.

Professor Veenhoven is involved in the research program at Erasmus University on lsquo Social-Cultural Transformations and Policyrsquo and is known among other things in connection with The World Database of Happiness. This is an ongoing register of research on subjective appreciation of life. Its purpose is to make the wealth of scattered findings accessible, and to create a basis for further meta-analytic studies.

The All-Win Network is just opening a new web site: www.development4all.org. dedicated to funding the development and consciousness change of people worldwide. This web site outlines a step by step process to introduce a basic income for all that can only be spent on personal and community development; lists various funding methods that can be applied to local, national and global levels; and invites input from anyone who is interested. After all, each of us would benefit from the basic income and so it is important to ensure that it is tailored to needs worldwide. Check it out. The Forum should be up and running soon.
